Yoga Classes
- Adult Yoga Classes
- Unless the name indicates otherwise, all of the yoga classes, Beginner and Intermediate, that TYTG offers are flexible enough to accomodate adults of any age with any level of experience. The instructor will demonstrate a number of yoga poses and monitor the class members to help them perform each pose safely and successfully, sometimes offering individual modifications as needed. All classes, no matter how long, finish with a ten minute cooling down and meditation period.
- Mommy & Me Yoga Class
a.k.a. Mom and Tot - This is a fun class for a parent, caregiver, or grandparent to attend with their toddler or baby 2 and under. Adult and child will learn fun yoga poses together integrating the child and adult into poses Fun dancing around the room and singing time. We will read a favorite book, and sing songs while performing different yoga postures. Working with our toddlers, and moving them into fun stretches and positions. A lot of our postures are animal related, and we will integrate the sounds the animal makes into our poses. There are a lot of hugs and kisses, the showing of affection and attention to our child. The key here is to let the child feel free to express themselves, and allow the adult to enjoy this special time with their toddler or baby
- Child and Teen Yoga
- Yoga for children ranging in age from 6 to 12 years old.
A regular Yoga practice can help a child learn to cope better with life’s stress, reduce symptoms of illness, and prevent posture problems in later years. Through simple and fun Yoga poses, children gain strength, flexibility, develop coordination and good posture, as well as learn to release energy in a healthy, safe way. And Yoga is suitable for all children no matter what their physical abilities.
- Teen Yoga
- This class is especially focused for teens and the development of skill sets that can be integrated into the teen's everyday life. The teen will learn stress reduction, healthy body image, good posture and focus. Though the poses and techniques will be from many forms of Yoga the foundation will be Hatha Yoga.
Hatha Yoga is an ancient method of total body conditioning, designed to develop strength, stamina, flexibility, balance, coordination and concentration. It increases vitality and teaches methods for relaxation, through a series of postures and stretches. Each session begins with asanas, or poses, and concludes with relaxation to refresh the mind and allow the body to rid itself of stress.
- Older Adult Yoga
