New Student Tips

Practical advice for beginning yoga practitioners. Your teacher told you these, but printing this document and keeping it handy will help you to remember them

YOGA INLET December 2009 Newsletter

I found this newsletter to be very informative and helpful. YOGA INLET is in Pennsylvania and I became friends with one of the teachers during my Yoga training. Their newsletters provide some good information regarding many topics related to Yoga. This issue features tips to boost the auto-immune system, and suggestions to bolster both mind and spirit through the winter struggle to keep healthy, especially in these short cloudy days here in the Midwest. I hope you enjoy it as I did.

2010 Yoga Insight Survey Results

In December 2009, a survey was conducted on behalf of Yoga Alliance to identify those factors that may be inhibiting people from beginning a yoga practice. This analysis was intended to shed light on current perceptions of yoga in the United States and determine how well people understand the myriad health and wellness benefits the practice yeilds. Through such research, Yoga Alliance hopes to encourage more people to try the practice and reap its rewards. Read their findings.

Hygiene Suggestions for Your Yoga Practice

The H1N1 Flu is a very serious concern amongst us all. In an effort to keep our students healthy, the teachers of The Yoga Teachers' Group have put together a list of Hygiene Suggestions for Your Yoga Practice. This document provides some Yoga terms as well as tips from various sources which are good guidelines to observe even when it isn't flu season.

Music in Sport and Exercize

This document contains handouts for the Creating Your Home Practice workshop. These handouts are all about music.

Educational Newsletter: Winter 2009-2010

The Yoga Teachers' Group publishes a small, easy to read newsletter which features information about the classes being offered, especially changes in times or venues. There are also articles about yoga terms and poses meant to contribute to the ongoing education of the community of yoga practitioners that TYTG serves.
